From Meetings
This week we're watching the feature film Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike; A long time has passed since the end of a massive war between humans and monsters. A new type of energy named "aer" was discovered. When crystallized, this substance became the energy source for "blastia", an ancient civilization's technology that provided a wide array of essential abilities for humanity. Despite it's manipulation, mankind still has little knowledge of what exactly is "aer". On a mission to eradicate a horde of monsters near the town of Shizotania, a group of knights comes across a strange surge of "aer". Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo are two new members fresh out of the academy of this knight division. Both are childhood friends who went separate ways, but ended up meeting each other once again while enlisting to serve the Empire.
Cya Thursday.

Good News!!!
Westcountry Anime is back!
That’s right our summer hiatus is over. Even better news is that we're back in our good old home, the Hyde Park pub on Mutley Plain (so you don't have to figure out the location of some new venue).
We will kick off our return by watching Tokyo Godfathers in honour of the recent death of legendary anime director Satoshi Kon.
So see you all Thursday.

That's right folks summer is almost over, and for those of you in education that means it's back to school time....
Coincidently it’s also back to WA time!!
That’s right our summer hiatus is over. So as of Thursday the 2nd of September we’ll be calling class 101 in all things anime, back in our good old home, the Hyde Park pub on Mutley Plain.
So we hope to see you on on the 2nd at 7:30pm, for the first WA of the new term. Where in honour of the recent death of legendary anime director Satoshi Kon, we'll be watching one of his feature films (to be decideded by the mods).
So we hope to see you all then

Heya WA folks!
So there's some good news and bad news...okay, mostly bad news.
The Hyde Park Inn, where we've enjoyed our WA meetings for the past few years, has sadly been closed down. The owners have sold the place, and at this moment we're unsure how long it will be before we will (or even if we will ever) be able to use the venue for WA again.
The good news is that the people who previously managed the Hyde, are due to take on a new place, which is The Woodside (which is just off Ebrington Street. See here for details), but it's going to be a while before we'll know if we're able to use it as a WA venue.
In the meantime, we are frantically searching under every manhole and dustbin (Roast Chicken, 1000 points! Yes!) ...I mean, location, for a temporary new Venue so we can still catch our dose of Anime each other Thursday and Monday.
So watch this space and bear with us while we sort something out. Who knows? We might even still have WA this Thursday if a shockingly good location pops up all of a sudden, so keep an eye on the forum and the Facbook group for updates and we'll keep you posted.
Also, this is a very long roundabout way of saying "No WA this week, go out and get some fresh air!"

Well this week, having won the poll by the narrowest of margins, we'll be watching Tales of the Abyss; Luke, the spoiled son of a noble from the kingdom of Kimlasca-Lavaldear, has been confined inside his father's mansion ever since he was kidnapped seven years ago by a rival country. Now Luke's memory of the life he led before is missing, and a strange voice, which only he can hear, has been calling out to him ever since. One day while training with his mentor, a strange woman called Tear breaks into the mansion with the sole intent of taking Van's life. During the struggle Luke is transported far from home, along with Tear, and now that Luke has finally gained the freedom he's been dreaming of, what awaits him in the outside world will shatter everything he's ever known about himself.
Plus find out what happens to Guts and co after their rescue of Griffith, as we reach the blood splatered conclusion to our featured series Berserk.

Whoa! Apologies for the lateness, as this week's WA meeting is TONIGHT. So cancel those plans you just made, it's WA night!
We're starting things off with the first two episodes of Tegami Bachi, which will make you respect your local Postman more than you ever have before.
After this we've got more Berserk, as things start building up to the series finalé, Guts returns to aid the Hawks, and it's up to them to rescue the captured Griffith.
See you tonight!
